Welcome to the Louisiana Contest Club (LCC). We are a non-profit organization formed for the purpose of encouraging Radio Amateurs in Louisiana and adjoining states to participate in the radio sports known as "contesting"

The original founders of LCC felt that an organization was needed in Louisiana to educate, promote and encourage contesting. Further, they recognized that Louisiana had never represented by a statewide contest club. We have many recognized and skilled Amateur Radio operators in our area, some who have won many national and world contesting awards. Through the LCC, we will provide a vehicle for its membership to further develop its contesting skills and strategies, while allowing its members to share collective knowledge and experience through mentoring.

Club competition evolves when its members are able to pool their scores within a certain predefined area. The LCC has chosen to mark the center of its area near the City of Marksville, LA at coordinates N31.226894 Latitude and W91.944580 Longitude. This area comprises most of Louisiana and major Amateur Radio operator population centers in Mississippi and Texas.  Check out the map posted in the menu and all  Amateur Radio operators within the circle, those who are active contesters, those who "play" in a few contests each year, or those who are interested in learning about contesting, are encouraged to join the LCC.

Not all Contest involve club competitions. There are many more contest whereby individuals or small groups of individuals participate. We would like to recognize our club members that win awards. As our web site develops, we will offer a way for members to submit their contest scores, review contest rules and discuss contesting on its email reflector. We want our membership to develop and discuss different strategies, skills and challenges with other members, to make Amateur Radio operators in the South better than ever.

We encourage your membership and participation in the club. Enrollment to our list server is free and we welcome your subscription and comments. Quarterly meetings will be held for members or prospective members at Hamfest in different parts of the State of Louisiana. We hope you will consider meeting and joining us.

Get on the air, make some Q's and have fun!

As Chomps Boo-TAY states, "laissez les Contests roulez!" (Let the Contests roll!)
